Welcome on back to Hump Day Update, the place to find out everything you need to know about what’s been going on in the entertainment world for the week. I’m Rachel A.G. Gilman and I’ve been away for a while traveling the globe, but enough about me, let’s get to the news!

James Cordon continued his fun with Carpool Karaoke with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, only there was a twist: they were naked and singing along to the band’s hits. Sounds like my typical Saturday morning after a crazy Friday night.

ABC brought back its summer soap “Mistresses” over the last couple of weeks. It’s based around the main character, Karen, who was a psychologist who wrote a book about having a three-way with her doctor and his late wife, and now she’s a best-seller. I mean, I want to be published, but I’m not sure if I want it THAT badly.

Kanye West never ceases to be extreme, not only making alterations to his album four months after its release, but also announcing dates for his Saint Pablo Tour this fall, which he says he wants to cause inspiration in kids the same way Star Wars inspired him. I’m not sure what the characters of Star Wars and Kanye West have in common beyond the fact they both dress in funny outfits.

“Orange Is The New Black” has returned on Netflix with talks of the next season already in the works. Fans are questioning how long lead Piper will remain in prison, to which star Taylor Schilling likely thought, “Hey, as long as it pays well.”

Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas are going to tour together this summer and have been making the TV talk show rounds, telling stories of Nick’s “narb” on the red carpet after indulging in a marijuana-induced lollipop and showing promo pictures where the pair is wet and mostly naked. Mickey Mouse, I hope your eyes are covered.

One place I’ve been lately is London, where ITV featured a documentary series about Heathrow Airport that I found myself addicted to. We have the same thing here about LaGuardia Airport, but it’s called “Fear Factor.”

The Tony Awards also aired during our time away. I couldn’t get the stream abroad, but I didn’t need to watch to guess that “Hamilton” and “The Color Purple” won big, so pretty much the opposite racial proportions of the Oscars.

Remember Sophia Grace and Rosie of “Ellen” fame? Well, Sophie Grace is now a teenager and has released her first solo single, “Girl In the Mirror,” while her cousin is taking a break from the spotlight (but still takes singing lessons and has met the Spice Girls). If you ever thought you could take a break from work, just remember a thirteen year-old is probably out-achieving you as we speak.

We are into yet another season of “The Bachelorette” on ABC, where Jojo has returned to take the plunge from our favorite, heartbroken lady to the subject of our screaming at the television. But more interestingly, the show is holding future casting sessions in NYC this week, so if you’re looking to become the next great Internet meme and have fifteen minutes of fame, Tisch kids, head on over!

And finally, one of the biggest bits of pop culture news from our hiatus in the break-up of Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris. There’s no point in making a joke about her next album, but what’s more interesting is that she’s moved on with another U.K. import, Tom Hiddleston. I mean, after having been there for two weeks, I can definitely say once you go to England, it’s hard to go back – I understand Taylor’s pain (although more in food than men choices).

Hope you enjoyed this week! See you back here next week and for the rest of the summer! Stay cool, NYU.
